Venice Italy, May 2005-Pam & Dave Visit Venice
Pam and Dave met outside of Venice over 30 years years ago while Dave was serving in the Air Force in Aviano Italy. Venice was a place we would go by train to spend the day on a date and enjoy a city on the water. There are no cars in Venice. You get around by foot or water taxi and water busses. The city is over 1000 years old and takes you back in time like no other place. With the narrow cobble stone pathways you can explore to your hearts content never quite knowing where you'll come out next. We had fun trying to get lost, looking for out of the way cafes, shops and restaurants. Venice is a photographer's dream, so much to see. Pam and I have been back a few times since we met over 30 years ago, but this time we wanted to be different. We wanted to absorb the city, slow down, sit down and watch Venice in motion, the gondolas, hte architecture, the locals. We stayed for 4 days and these photo's are Dave's reflection of the scenery, canals, corridors and pathways of an old city, slowing sinking into the sea. I hope you all have a chance to visit a most unique place on earth. These photos will give you a glimpse of a very romantic place!
